Habits.
when we have fear running or coming up
when we are in times of stress and distress
when the unknown becomes every moment
habits are a coping mechanism
habits, doing the known, is our fallback
our comfort zone
they give us the feeling of easy in uneasy times.
There are many kinds of habits - those that REALLY support us, and those that take us back to familiar but unhealthy territory.
These uneasy unbelievable times are giving us the opportunity to ask, to question - is this a habit that I really want to take forward with me??
Unbelievable times - absolutely! We have never seen the likes of what we are going through before, even though there have been wars, the Spanish Flu and more - but never with the amount of connection that we have now.
We didn't travel the way we do, we didn't rely on other countries for our 'devices' and resources and even our food.
As we move forward, we can return to the Village - but we cannot return to the word of our ancestors, and quite frankly I don't think any of us really want to or could.
We are a different species now.
SO WHY WOULD WE DRAW ON OLD HABITS?
draw on the habits that uplift you
create new habits that answer the demands of the moment that you find yourself in
live the spiritual truths that you have been reading - this is the time to draw on those kinds of practices. Practices and habits that unite and uplift you, and your people, and the people you don't know.
make new habits of practices like social distancing and handwashing to look after OTHER people
make doing caring for others a new habit - and remember, doing is an action word.
Because the spread is viral.
